It’s Book Lovers’ Day! Perfect timing to have my first draft printed! My mom was so amused at my excitement that she turned a picture of my manuscript into a baby announcement. 😂

Arrangement by David Lasky A blessed Holy Week to you all. My prayers are especially with those of you tasked with leading God’s people in praise. What’re you looking forward to playing or singing this Sunday? Some lyrics I wrote last year- I figured they fit the current liturgical season! Would you be interested in hearing them set to music? I’m not the best solo singer but I could give it a shot. 🙌🏻 Are you team “Hosanna, Loud Hosanna” or “All Glory, Laud, and Honor”? Or…are you team “Ryanne’s haunted mashup” 😬😂 “Because music engages our affections, it can be painful when we don’t love our church’s music. But we’re all called to sing and to lift our voices in wholehearted worship, regardless of the style. Assuming the lyrics are biblical, when we don’t immediately or constantly like our church’s music, we need to commit to participation, preparation, and perseverance. In doing so, we can go beyond musical style to more deeply grasp the heart of worship.“ Snapshots from my first Sunday back after maternity leave. When my son was born, one of his eyes was squished shut while the other was wide open. Mere seconds old, he lifted his head and valiantly sought to take in his new and, I imagine, startling surroundings. He squinted at my face, his lower lip quivering with the effort. Wide-eyed behind my glasses, I stared back, utterly transfixed.
