I’m so glad you’re here. This blog has been my online home for a long while, and it is filled with an omnivorous selection of my writing. I hope you enjoy!
A bit about me: I am a church organist, collaborative pianist, and author based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. My first book, Spirit-Filled Singing: Bearing Fruit as We Worship Together, was published in 2025 by Crossway. I hope it encourages you to sing with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength! I am excited to share that my first children’s book is slated for an early 2029 release through Seed & Sparrow, a new imprint by Baker Books. Stay tuned for more details!
I share a coffee-and-book-filled home with my pastor-husband, Billy, our son, and our curmudgeon—I mean—cat. When not writing, rehearsing, or baby-wrangling, I love distance running and reading a wide variety of genres. I aspire to cultivate what G.K. Chesterton calls “an active and imaginative life.”
I received my Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance (minor in organ) from Biola University, where I also studied in the Torrey Honors College. I cannot recommend that program enough! After my undergrad, I moved to Scotland and earned a Master of Letters in “Theology and the Arts” from the University of St. Andrews. My master’s dissertation focused on musical practice as a spiritual discipline. In May of 2026, I completed my Doctor of Ministry degree from Covenant Theological Seminary. My dissertation focused on Christian writers in the digital age. Fitting, no?
