Nine years ago, I began a story—a story that kept me up at night, that made me sick to my stomach, that sent me down weird Google rabbit holes. It is a story that I could not forget and have revisited every year since.
It is, I believe, a necessary story.
I am pleased to announce that this story, “The Sacrifice,” has finally found a home in Solum Literary Journal—and not a moment too soon.
As we humans insist on testing the boundaries of ethics and incarnating dystopia, this story of mine is less fantastical than it seemed nearly a decade ago. I hope you’ll read the excerpt on my contributor profile here and consider ordering a copy of the journal when it is published in a month or two.
